Diet Diabet Ultimate Guide for Diabetics: What Can I Eat To Live? (diabetes diet, diabetes nutrition, diabetes cure Book 1) [Kindle Edition]
I was diagnosed with Type-2 diabetes in 2009. For the past 5 years, I
have managed to control my blood sugar using medication. This is
because I did not listen to conventional medical advice, did my own
research, and began to eat a low carbohydrate diet - initially raw vegan
(plan advocated by Dr. Gabriel Cousens in There Is A Cure For
Diabetes), then transitioning to a Low Carbohydrate, High Fat omnivorous
diet in 2013. I am appalled at most "diabetic" cookbooks and mainstream
books on diabetes, including this one. I refuse to waste money on them,
but I purchase the free ones to see if they're advocating a low-carb
approach. So much for the background, let's get to the review. First of
all, the author has "Dr." in front of her name, which will lend a note
of authority in the minds of many people. Practically all of the recipes
contain at least one or more of the following: beans, grains, flour,
margarine, milk, agave syrup, carrots and other root vegetables,
potatoes, sweet potatoes, winter squash, maple syrup, and bread. If I
was still eating these foods, I would need medication. Why are these
foods being recommended to diabetics?! If you have Type-2 Diabetes,
it's not enough to eliminate refined sugar from your diet - if you want
to control your diabetes without drugs, you need to cut the
carbohydrates. That's what's making your blood sugar high. Mainstream
health authorities are recommending a diet for diabetics that will keep
them sick and cause their condition to worsen over time, causing them to
need increased medications, and treatment, and for them to suffer from
very serious and sometimes fatal complications. This can be prevented,
and I'm speaking from my own direct experience. I highly recommend the
book s, Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution (Richard K. Bernstein), and
Diabetes? No Thanks, by Lars-Erik Litsfeldt, to start, and then checking
out the many LCHF books and resources that are available.
